The team looking after our community and coworking spaces in Valencia<\/h2>\n

Cristina<\/strong> is the Founder and CEO of Vortex Coworking. She works behind the scenes with the team to transform the routine of going to work into a positive, inspiring, enriching and fun experience<\/strong> for the Vortex Community. When she\u2019s not analysing ideas, proposals or reports with the team, Cristina checks every corner of the spaces, chats with members of the community, or gets carried away sketching and imagining the next Vortex.<\/p>\n

In each workspace you\u2019ll find at least one of her personal items \u2014 the surfboard at Vortex Playa or the piano at Vortex Centro. She is also the cornerstone of the Vortex Team: her energy, determination and passion inspire us every single day and motivate the team to bring out the best in everyone.<\/p>\n

An Industrial Engineer by profession, before launching the Vortex coworking network Cristina worked in energy sector corporations and lived in several countries. Before leaving everything behind to return to Valencia and begin her entrepreneurial journey with Vortex, she spent a year exploring the coworking sector, travelling and experiencing life as a coworker in workspaces around the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And outside Vortex? Cristina has a soft spot for adventure, backpacking trips, sport \u2014 especially diving, surfing and mountain activities \u2014 pasta carbonara and eggs Benedict. Whenever someone in the community needs a recommendation, her foodie radar is our greatest ally in finding the best restaurants in Valencia.<\/p>\n

\n

Andrea<\/strong> is Head of Events and Workspace.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As Head of Events, Andrea creates, plans and energises the monthly calendar<\/strong> of activities \u2014 from professional workshops to sports sessions and social plans \u2014 with the aim of strengthening and consolidating the Vortex Community. She coordinates our monthly breakfasts, meetups, workshops and all sorts of gatherings.<\/p>\n

Andrea also leads corporate events<\/strong> and is responsible for sourcing, analysing and closing strategic collaborations<\/strong> for Vortex \u2014 from suppliers for our Market Pop Ups, to additional services of interest to our community (accommodation, finance, etc.), to venues for our V Afterworks.<\/p>\n

Anything else? Yes! Andrea is the creator of our Vortex Newsletter<\/strong>, where we share the hottest updates \u2014 from #madeinVortex news to the most interesting events happening in our beloved Valencia.<\/p>\n

As Workspace Manager \u2014 currently at Vortex Centro<\/a> \u2014 Andrea oversees the coworking space from onboarding and bookings to troubleshooting, contracts, invoicing and financial performance. She is also the host of the community and the main point of contact for members. She knows each and every one of them \u2014 and she\u2019s the best at spotting potential synergies and perfect matches within the community.<\/p>\n

And outside Vortex? Although sport isn\u2019t exactly her thing, Andrea is always running a marathon \u2014 but only if it\u2019s on Netflix, HBO or any platform that feeds her obsession with cinema. A lover of all things geeky and sweet \u2014 and especially the combination of both (mochi, anyone?) \u2014 she\u2019ll never say no to an afternoon snack. She easily wins the award for the funniest and friendliest member of the team, and finds it nearly impossible to say no to a beer after work. Her signature end-of-day phrase? \u201cShall we grab a quick pint?\u201d \u2014 which inevitably turns into an improvised afterwork.<\/p>\n

\n

Sandra<\/strong> is Head of Marketing and Workspace.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As Head of Marketing, Sandra develops the annual marketing strategy<\/strong>, prepares and analyses monthly performance reports, proposes and implements SEO and SEM strategies, and updates and maintains our website and blog, constantly identifying opportunities for improvement. She also leads our social media presence, planning and creating content for LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.<\/p>\n

As Workspace Manager \u2014 currently at Vortex Playa \u2014 Sandra oversees the space from onboarding and bookings to handling day-to-day issues, contracts, invoicing and financial performance. She is also the community host and key point<\/strong> of contact for members. She knows everyone and is brilliant at identifying synergies and potential matches.<\/p>\n

And she is undoubtedly best friends with our VIP Guests \u2014 our beloved furry members \u2014 especially Coco and Choco.<\/p>\n

And outside Vortex? As a true Valencian, Sandra is our Fallas ambassador within the community. She adores and spoils all our furry friends (the pets our members bring along), and she\u2019s passionate about horses and Andalusia, where she plans getaways whenever she can. The most rational member of the team, she brings clarity and perspective \u2014 combined with excellent taste and creativity, which explains her talent for photography. The best shots on our social media? Almost certainly Sandra\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Would you like to know the five facts that define us best?<\/p>\n

#1 What does Vortex mean?<\/strong>
\u201cVortex\u201d comes from Latin and means whirlpool \u2014 a point in space that generates movement around it, like the eye of a hurricane. That\u2019s what we aim to be: the epicentre, the energy vortex of our community.<\/p>\n

#2 What are we?<\/strong>
A community-focused network of coworking spaces in Valencia. Our mission is to transform the routine of going to work into a positive, inspiring, enriching and fun experience. We do this by creating an environment and atmosphere intentionally designed to make that happen.<\/p>\n

Because we are more than coworking spaces \u2014 we are a community: people to connect, share and collaborate with. In our workspaces, members can meet like-minded professionals, expand their professional network and also build friendships.<\/p>\n

#3 Why?<\/strong>
Because we understand first-hand the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, freelancers, remote workers and those arriving in a new city. From our own experience, we know that surrounding yourself with other professionals makes the journey easier and far more enjoyable.<\/p>\n

#4 Our key milestones<\/strong>
In January 2018, we opened our doors in Valencia with our first coworking space in El Cabanyal, near the sea and the Marina: Vortex Playa.<\/p>\n

Two years later, we opened our second space in Valencia\u2019s commercial and financial centre: Vortex Centro.<\/p>\n

The following year, we expanded our services through collaborations, including coliving.<\/p>\n

And what\u2019s next? Bigger dreams. Stay tuned.<\/p>\n

#5 What makes us different?<\/strong>
Three things: the size of our workspaces, our premium locations and the distinctive design of each space.<\/p>\n

Unlike large business centres with a more corporate atmosphere, each of our workspaces hosts between 50 and 100 professionals, creating a close, familiar environment where connections happen naturally and spontaneously.<\/p>\n

And unlike very small shared offices without professional management behind them, we dedicate people and resources to managing the spaces and energising the community \u2014 so our members enjoy a professional service without worrying about what happens backstage.<\/p>\n

10 Fun Facts about Vortex Coworking<\/h2>\n

\u2022 The portrait of Ada Lovelace (the world\u2019s first programmer) in the Fijo Plus room at Vortex Playa was chosen through a community vote among six scientists (three men and three women), including Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. Ada won by a landslide.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The building where Vortex Centro is located was once home to composer Joaqu\u00edn Rodrigo, author of the famous Concierto de Aranjuez and one of Spain\u2019s greatest classical composers.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The most surprising workshop we\u2019ve hosted? A honey tasting organised by Untamed Honey (Isabel and Felix), siblings and long-standing members of Vortex Centro.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Most unexpected nationality among our members: Kuwait (and female!).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Most magical community event: Autumn Getaway 2020.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Wildest night: our first anniversary in January 2019 \u2014 we partied until sunrise.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Why do we have a piano and a surfboard at Vortex? Cristina didn\u2019t have space for them at home before opening the workspace\u2026 and they never left.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Cool client moment: Uber hired our coworking space for an international UberEats advert. Yes \u2014 we\u2019re famous!<\/p>\n

\u2022 Strangest request ever: booking a room for a night-time spirit mediation session (we politely declined \u2014 no licence for that!).<\/p>\n

\u2022 We\u2019ve been featured in national newspaper El Pa\u00eds and on TVE\u2019s programme Informe Semanal \u2014 and they contacted us directly. We were absolutely thrilled.<\/p>\n
