At Vortex, if there’s one conversation that comes up time and time again every summer, it’s all about the festivals. Because summer in Valencia has something special about it. Yes, it’s hot. Seriously hot. But it’s also the time of year when the city is absolutely bursting with possibilities. The evenings stretch out, the terraces come alive, and pretty much every week, a new plan pops up. From beachside meet ups to massive festivals, open-air cultural events, beach trips, or dinners that carry on well into the night.
At Vortex, we love sharing knowledge. It’s something that happens every single day, whether we’re trading business tips, recommending work tools, or discovering new plans to enjoy Valencia. After all, a great community doesn’t just help you work better. It also helps you get the very best out of the place you live.
That’s why we wanted to put together a shortlist of the music events that pop up most in our conversations and share them with all of you. It’s a lineup with options for every style, based on real experiences, recommendations from our coworkers, and many years of enjoying Valencia.
The unmissable music festivals in Valencia and beyond
Valencia has established itself as one of Spain’s top music destinations. From urban festivals to major events by the sea, this summer’s lineup is once again packed with options for all tastes.
Love the 90’s Valencia (may/june)
A festival that proves music also has the power to take us back in time. Love the 90s brings together some of the most iconic artists and tracks from a decade that shaped a whole generation. Among our coworkers, it always pops up every summer as one of those recommendations that combines fun, nostalgia, and a chance to reconnect with the soundtrack of so many memories. It’s a unique option on Valencia’s music calendar that continues to pack out venues year after year.
Festival de les Arts (june)
For many members of our community, this is the official start of the summer. Held at the City of Arts and Sciences, it combines a spectacular location with some of the biggest names on the national and international indie scene.
BIGSOUND Festival (june)
The ultimate benchmark for urban music in Valencia. It’s an event that brings together thousands of festivalgoers every year and usually takes center stage in many of our conversations as the dates get closer.
FAR València (july)
A music concert series that runs throughout the whole month at Marina Norte. Its diverse lineup brings together genres that span generations, ranging from legendary international icons to today’s pop and electronic music. One of the events that gets the most recommendations within Vortex. The beachside setting and the chance to enjoy concerts all month long make it an especially attractive option for those looking for a more relaxed, extended experience.
One of the reasons this concert series comes up so often in our conversations is its fantastic location right by the sea. For those working from our coworking space, Vortex Ciencias (just a 15-minute bike ride from the venue), it has become almost a summer ritual: wrapping up the workday and heading over to enjoy an open-air concert as the sun goes down.
Conciertos de Viveros (july)
An unmissable classic of the Valencian summer. Its blend of national and international artists, combined with the unique setting of the Jardines del Real, makes it one of the most loved options for those who prefer to enjoy live music without leaving the city.
For those working from Vortex Centro, Viveros has an added bonus, too: it’s just a few minutes from the coworking space. It’s one of those uniquely Valencian experiences: wrapping up work and spending the rest of the evening enjoying live music under the trees of the Jardines del Real.
Zevra Festival (july) and Medusa Sunbeach Festival (august) in Cullera
Cullera is once again set to become one of the summer’s major musical epicentres. Urban music, electronic beats, and a beach vibe that draws in festivalgoers from all over Spain and across Europe.
FIB Benicàssim (july), Arenal Sound (august) and Rototom Sunsplash (august) in Castellón
Three classics on the national festival circuit. Year after year, they continue to be among our community’s most frequent recommendations, thanks to their lineups, their atmosphere, and how easy they are to get to from Valencia.
Great festival getaways from Valencia
Although the Valencian Community offers options for practically every taste, some of our coworkers take the opportunity to plan music getaways around the rest of the country.
Sónar Festival (June, Barcelona)
Much more than an electronic music festival. Sónar is one of the world’s leading events at the intersection of music, creativity, technology, and innovation. Every year, it attracts artists, creative professionals, and digital culture lovers from all over the world.
Mad Cool Festival (July, Madrid)
One of the major national events for lovers of rock, indie, and international pop. Connection from Valencia: less than 2 hours away by high-speed train (AVE).
Monegros Desert Festival (July, Aragón)
A unique experience for electronic music fans, with a setting that is hard to compare to any other European festival. Direct connection to Zaragoza. Wrap up your projects on Friday and dance all weekend!
Aquasella (august, Asturias)
A historical landmark within the Spanish techno scene and a perfect getaway to explore the north during a long weekend. Transportation: by car.
From urban festivals in the very heart of Valencia to major events right by the sea, including electronic, reggae, indie, or 90s music. The variety of this list perfectly reflects the diversity of our own community: different nationalities, different professions, and, of course, different soundtracks for the summer.

Much more than festivals
What we love most about these conversations isn’t just discovering new artists or finding the next festival to attend.
It’s seeing how shared interests like music help build connections among people who, in many cases, came to Vortex simply looking for a place to work.
The best communities are built precisely this way: through small everyday conversations, honest recommendations, and shared experiences that go way beyond work.
If you want to experience what everyday life is like within a close-knit, high-energy international professional community, we invite you to book a Day Pass and spend a day with us.
Come for the space. Stay for the community.
